A Review Of HAI Flat Irons

by Robin OBrien

What's unusual about HAI, is that the CEO is a former stylist. With someone in charge from a styling background it's hardly surprising that HAI flat irons are popular with stylists. Also, HAI make different flat irons to accommodate different hair types and hairstyles. What follows is a short review of HAI flat irons.

The HAI Convertable Flat Iron has been designed to be a good all-round hair straightener. Its shape looks very similar to the Solia Tourmaline flat iron. For its class it's a little on the heavy side though, weighing 1.5 lbs (the Solia Tourmaline weighs only 1 lb). The HAI Convertible heats up in around 25 seconds. It has variable temperature settings (170F - 390F, 60C - 200C).

Unfortunately, there is no automatic switch off so, to save electricity and prolong lifespan, it should be turned off between uses with the Off-On switch. The plate width is 1 1/4 inches. All in all, the HAI Convertable Flat Iron is a good styling tool that is well liked. It lacks some of the sophistication of some of its competitors, but it happens to be a lot cheap than them also.

The HAI eLite Tong Ionic Iron isn't used for straightening hair. Its 2" crescent moon shape makes it ideal for creating circular smooth shapes or flipping hair up and under as well as creating waves and alternating curls on medium to long hair. The appearance of the HAI Elite is far more pleasing on the eye than the HAI Convertible. HAI claim the handle has been ergonomically designed to make using it less tiring and easier to use - I think they might be justified; the rounded contours and finger groves does make it nice to hold. My biggest concern about the HAI eLite Tong Ionic Iron is its price tag, at around 200 dollars. I know it has lots of nice features like flash heating, low EMF (Electro Magnetic Field), built with Optimum Resonant Materials, infused with Far Infrared Heating and charged with MEGA Ions - all designed to leave you with silkier hair, but I still think the price is a little too high.

HAI eLite Digistick Ceramic Flat Iron is definitely the best styling tool in the HAI stable. You get the low EMF (Electro Magnetic Field), built with Optimum Resonant Materials, infused with Far Infrared Heating and charged with MEGA Ions just like the HAI eLite Tong Ionic Iron. But, unlike the Tong Ionic, the HAI eLite Digistick has 1" flat plates so you can straighten and curl your hair. It has the same pleasing contours of the Tong Ionic weighing only 0.8 lbs. The tool is on the expensive side - comparable to a GHD flat iron - but it does offer the same good design, quality of build and fantastic hair styling.

If you're going to buy an HAI flat iron then you should pay that little bit extra and invest in the HAI eLite Digistick Ceramic Flat Iron. It does everything that the HAI eLite Tong Ionic Iron and is a far more advanced styling than the HAI Convertible Flat Iron.

Sedu hair straightener and other hair straightening methods

There is no doubt that flat straight smooth hair is the fashionable hair style. But what can all the poor women with curly hair do? Well, the variety of hair straighteners in the market is growing every day. But, one can define a few group of hair straightening methods. The groups can be distinguished by the technology used and the types of products used by the end customer to make her hair straight:

1. Wet to dry-A new not yet popular product is the wet to dry flat hair iron. It is actually a joining of a hair iron and a hair dryer, and that is it's biggest advantage-It straightens the hair and dries it simultaneously. It saves a lot of time compared to other hair straightening methods.

2. Thermal reconditioning-This permanent hair straightening method will show it's outcome only after at least 6 months. However, it's chemical components usually show fine results. Honestly, we do not advise to use this method as your first hair straightening method.

3. IHR-Probably the most advanced hair straightening method, the ion hair retexturising invented in Japan is getting more and more popular in the past couple of years. It's technology is not so simple. Basically, it is based on the penetration of ions into the follicle of each hair and changing it's formation. This treatment takes a long time, done only on hair salons but has good and lasting results.

4. Blow outs-Perhaps the most common hair straightening method in the 20th century. The action is simple: just pulling a brash over a hairs and using hot hair to dry it. It takes time and you will never be able to get your hair really flat. You should also be careful with the affects the hot hair can have on your hair holding the dryer too close to your hair.

5. Hair iron-The flat hair iron is the most popular hair straightening method in the past couple of years. It is made up of two metal or ceramic plates and by pulling it through your hair any woman can get a great look in no time. However, The heat may damage your hair using it too often. Our research found out that sedu hair iron is the best hair straightening method. It uses the most advanced technology like temperature control and ceramic plates.

The Hair Straightener - A Popular Beauty Item

If you could be a woman with unmanageable hair, no doubt you have tried lots of changing ways to straighten it. You have tried various straightening gels together with blow-drying your hair, only to watch it slowly curl itself or become frizzy again. If you want to get the straightened look however you have been looking for a good hair straightener, try one from the line of Folica Beauty items.
Folica Beauty item s are varied, but perhaps the most popular line of Folia Beauty item s is their hair straighteners. Before hair straighteners were invented, women would go to interesting lengths to try to make sure their hair was straight, including ironing their hair on an ironing board!

Thanks to the hair straightener however is one of the Folica Beauty item s, ironing hair with a clothing iron is not something however needs to be an option anymore. A hair straightener is like another kind of iron, but it is much easier to use.

Hair straighteners come in several changing sizes. The size however you choose will depend on the amount of hair however you have. For example, if you have a lot of thick hair, you will have to choose a wider hair straighter. If you have a small amount of hair, and your hair is not quite as thick, you will ned a more narrow hair straightener.

To use a hair straightener, be sure however your hair is compcan ely dry. Many people make the mistake of trying to straighten their hair while it is wet, in an effort to dry their hair while they are straightening it. This will not work, because the hair will stay slightly damp, and you will have limp-looking hair.

Thus the right way to use a hair straightener is to wash your hair, blow dry it, and then begin straightening it. Be sure however you use some straightening balm while doing so, because otherwise your hair will lose some of its natural moisture.

It should be noted however you should not straighten your hair everyday, as it will make your hair brittle. Also, be sure however you only use as much heat however is necessary, because if you turn the heat too far up on your hair straightener, you could be sure to burn your hair. You should thus alternate your look a little bit for the sake of your hair.

Best Hair Straighteners and Flat Irons of 2007

CurlytoStraight.com announces the winners of the best hair straighteners of 2007.

The criteria that was used to decide on this "Best Of" list are; customer feed back, product features, reliability and customer support. This review does not cover every class of hair straighteners or flat irons available. Just top tier products were examined and price points were not considered.

These reviews are based only on consumer feed back, features and product quality. The survey doesn't take cost into consideration.

1) The FHI Runway Series - This brand of straightener is simply the best available on the market. These hair straighteners offer each and every innovative feature; lightening fast heat time, revolutionary heating plates, adjustable heat, damp-or-dry styling, 450F max temp and the most dependable plate heating of any product available on the market. The Runway models also have the best customer feed back of any the products we reviewed. If you want the most effective and best straightener out there this is certainly it, and they are experience. These straighteners sell for about $400.

Are the Runway models really worth the money? Definitely, if you can afford it.

2) The FHI Platform Series - As leaders in the advancement of tourmaline integration and ceramic plating, FHI's Platform series offers consumers a first-class straightener at a much more affordable price. Available in varied sizes, the FHI Platform series features PTFC ceramic heat plates, adjustable temperature, ultra flash heat times and 450F max heat. While these items are less expensive than the Runway models, they are still expensive at around $150 - $200.

3) CHI Pink Series - The popular pink straightener provides the best performance and dependability of any straightener in the Farouk CHI line. Flash heat times, ceramic plates, and temperature control combined with an ergonomically designed handle make the CHI hair straighteners a great choice for anyone who wants the most out of their hair.

4) T3 Wet-or-Dry - This hair straightener actually ranked above the CHI Pink series as far as product features, but it was dropped to fourth place largely because customers have had difficulties with returns on the warranty. Aside from that, this model provides a well-built ceramic design.

5) CHI Turbo Series - The Turbo series takes fifth place in our hair straightener review. This straightener line is used by more hair styling professionals than any of the other models. And although its maximum temperature and flash heating are not as good as the CHI Pink, the CHI Turbo series is a perfect choice for anyone that wants world class performance and dependability.

Honorable Mention

Even though our 2007 review of flat irons features the best of the best, there are many other professionally designed, top quality hair straighteners and flat irons available. Here are a few:

GHD Hair Straighteners - A great product with a sleek design that incorporates many innovative features makes the http://www.curlytostraight.com/GHD.html" target="blank">GHD straighteners a wonderful choice.

HAI Hair Straightener|Flat Iron - HAI has a couple of quality offerings at prices you can afford; the Nu Stik and the Convertible.FHI Flat Iron|Hair Straightener - The FHI Technique series offers best in Class products for the conventional models. The FHI ceramic flat iron is a high quality product with several of the technologies of the new millennium.

*One of the most popular models out there, the sedu hair straighteners, was not reviewed because of what seems to be misleading sales practices and the anti-competitive, exclusive internet distribution agreement.
